Coach Boxley is in his 2nd year at Robert E. Lee. He’s been a head coach for 20 of his 23 year coaching career collecting 339 head coaching victories. Coach Boxley graduated from Wills Point High School in 1989. In 1994 He graduated from East Texas State University.
Coach Boxley has 4 years of college baseball experience including two years at Northwestern Mississippi Community College where he was team captain and 1st Team All Region in 1991 and two years at University of Southern Mississippi.
Coach Shirey has come to Tyler Lee from St. Mary’s Catholic High School in Natchitoches, La. where he was the head baseball coach. He will coach the Lee outfielders, and will serve as the Varsity assistant. He began his coaching career at The Colony High School outside of Dallas and has made stops at Gilmer, Austin McCallum, Rusk, and Quitman. He is a native of Chicago and played baseball at Illinois Wesleyan where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in History. Coach still has family in Chicago and has a Siberian Husky named Sierra.
This is my seventh year in coaching and first at Tyler Lee. My wife, Cynda, and I have a four-year-old daughter named Cora. I graduated from White Oak high school where I played football and baseball. Following high school, I played football at East Texas Baptist University. My first coaching job was at Elysian Fields, where I coached football and baseball for three years. My previous job was at Ore City, where I was the offensive coordinator and head baseball coach. I am excited to be here coaching these awesome kids!
Coach Hand is in his first year at Tyler Lee after coming from Clear Lake High School in Houston. He will be the Head JV White Coach and assist with the Varsity as well as the JV Red team. Coach Hand is from Spring, TX where he graduated from Klein Oak High School. Coach Hand was a 2 year football lettermen at Tulane University and was a part of their 2002 Hawaii Bowl Championship team. He graduated with a Business Degree from Tarleton State University and spent 6 years in the corporate world before entering into his true passion of teaching and coaching. Coach is married to Kate Hand and they have 2 children, Eleanor (3) and Henry (1).
