Head Coach

Coach Boxley is in his 2nd year at Robert E. Lee. He’s been a head coach for 20 of his 23 year coaching career collecting 339 head coaching victories. Coach Boxley graduated from Wills Point High School in 1989. In 1994 He graduated from East Texas State University.

Coach Boxley has 4 years of college baseball experience including two years at Northwestern Mississippi Community College where he was team captain and 1st Team All Region in 1991 and two years at University of Southern Mississippi.

Don Shirey

Don Shirey

Assistant Varsity Coach

Coach Shirey has come to Tyler Lee from St. Mary’s Catholic High School in Natchitoches, La. where he was the head baseball coach. He will coach the Lee outfielders, and will serve as the Varsity assistant. He began his coaching career at The Colony High School outside of Dallas and has made stops at Gilmer, Austin McCallum, Rusk, and Quitman. He is a native of Chicago and played baseball at Illinois Wesleyan where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in History. Coach still has family in Chicago and has a Siberian Husky named Sierra.

Assistant Coach

Coach Haltom is in his second year of coaching, and comes to Tyler Lee from Hallettsville High School where he served as the Varsity assistant and worked with the pitching staff. He will be the Head Coach of our JV Red team, and serve as our pitching coordinator for all levels. Coach played college baseball at the University of Texas Pan American as a pitcher and outfielder.

Tyler Martin

Assistant Coach

Coach Martin enters his third year at Tyler Lee High School. This will be his first year on the baseball staff, but has previously coached baseball on the high school level at Quitman High School. He will be the Head Coach of our JV White team. Coach played football and baseball at Chapel Hill High School, and is a graduate of UT Tyler. He has a wife who teaches at Jack Elementary, Jessica, and a 2 year old son, Owen.
